Hoasis 2011
- What: Hoasis - a mixed gender co-ed frisbee tournament
- Where: Golf Links Sports Complex, Tucson, AZ
- When: Dec. 03-04, 2011
- Why: That’s when Tucson actually has pleasant weather. Golf Links usually has grass (!). Club series are over, college series hasn’t started. Students need a break before plugging out those finals. We’re going to try to get the same sick warehouse location we partied in at Uomo Donna for the party.
What to do to get a bid:
- Email Pacifica (pacificasommers at gmail dot com) a team name, team captain or contact person (with contact info), and any team info relevant for seeding purposes
- Pay your bid in the amount of $250, if sent prior to November 21st, $300 after that. The fee includes water, fruit, bagels, a pretty great party, and probably some ultimate. Checks (or checkout) either need to be in Pacifica's possession or have been sent with a postmark date prior to November 21st to get the $50 rebate.
You can live in the stone age and snail mail a check made out to Tucson Ultimate (assuming there’s still a postal service by November) to Pacifica Sommers to whom you should send an e-mail to obtain her snail mail address.
OR!!! do the new thing: Google checkout. That's right, all the instant gratification and procrastinationability of the internet has been harnessed to serve ultimate frisbee.
- Check your email for confirmation of received bid. Bids will not be considered complete until a check (or Google checkout payment) has been received. Get 'em in early! Available field space limits the tournament to 16 teams, and bids will be accepted on a first come, first served basis.
Other Info:
- The tournament is mixed gender 4/3 format.
- UPA 11th addition rules will apply unless specifically discussed at the captains meeting.
- Bagels, fruit, and water will be provided at the fields
- Winners will receive pride and small prizes that should be useful for ultimate
- There will be a party. It will be a good one.
